On June 24, 2025 we had our first (annual) community-wide gathering. Nearly 50 neighbors attended! Lauren Drutz (6B and Friends Firewise Community organizer) and Steve Eubanks from the Nevada County Fire Safe Coalition offered informative presentations. We all had a chance to re-connect with old friends and meet new neighbors. 

After several visits and walks through the neighborhood, Steve Eubanks provided a draft assessment. The organizing committee is using that assessment to draft our 3-Year Action Plan (2026-2028). Once that’s complete we will submit it for approval to become a Firewise Community.
